On this run we had changed the front shocks to 60/40 from 90/10 and I fixed the throttle linkage that was binding while coming up on the converter. It would stop at about 2300 RPM and Jake had to press harder to get by it. Then the RPM would go up to 3k or higher. The car likes 2500. Any-who, Jake had a .010 light to the darts .035 on a heads up 6.97 first round win.

I've thought about going higher sometimes. But figure the time I do the track wouldn't hold it. ;-) Maybe I'll do it next time I go to the track :-k

I usually use a heat gun and set tire pressure so that the tire is somewhere near the same temp all the way across after the burnout.

FYI Steve, if you go horking with tire pressure, it's likely going to mess with Jake's reaction times, ie, pump'em up and he's going to go red!! ;-) If it ain't broke, then there's probably no need to try to fix it! ;-)

That's what I said I need to time it. Sometimes he will have a .020 then .010 then a .015 then .110 then .030. He just those one in there. Some times he gets lucky and wins others he doesn't =; But that is racing.

Steve, Your up there on the line when he races so you should be able to tell if his light is good or not just by watching the lights. The car should be starting to move on the last yellow. It is somewhat easier to see is with a slower car.. Give it a try you may be surprise yourself.
What I am saying is you should be able to tell if his light is good or real bad...

Sometimes I watch the light most of the time I watch the rear tires and front of the car.
