After almost 3 years I finally got my engine back! I cannot blame the engine guys for the total delay, because I changed my mind about building a large ci small block. But, they did take a little longer than they told me.

Well I was at the track today for some t-n-t. Got 4 passes in. Could have stayed longer, but it looked like rain was coming so we loaded up and came home. After all that time away from the car it sure felt GOOD to be going down the track. I went to Mason-Dixon dragway in Hagerstown MD.

To refresh you guys: I cracked all the main webs on my motown block also bent my crank. SO new Dart little M with billet main caps, new Callies magnum 3.875 stroke crank, and new Xcelidyne Ti 2.18 and 1.625 valves.

Here are to 2 best times. I had alot of hook-spin-hook. So my 60 ft times are a little slow.

run 1 run 2

r/t -.015 .004

60ft 1.152 1.134

330 3.244 3.211

660 5.014 4.973

mph 138.33 138.78

1000 6.553 6.511

1320 7.865 7.824

mph 171.03 170.69

I think that it is not too bad for first runs on a track that did not hook. 3 year old tires. All with 427 ci SBC in a 1800lb 4link dragster.

The first pass that I did (not one of the 2 I posted) only ran to just past the 660. I did not want to lift. It was a check out pass, that is why I only ran it that far. When I ran it all out, it felt GREAT. There is just something about going 170+ mph. I guess that is what kept me from selling my stuff while I was waiting on the engine.

The heads are Brodix 18C. I had those heads on the engine before. They did some hand porting on them while my engine was apart. Weldtech ported the heads first, but it was a program for a circle track car on alcohol ( I used to run alcohol). Now the ports are bigger and shaped a little different.

Nice job Bob!!!!!!!
Bob's digger goes 7.80's at 170 and I went 8.16 at 170 #-o I like it as I won a couple of
rounds cause of it... =;

On another note...Why does a dragster not MPH like a door car??? Guess there not as aerodynamic??
Maybe as Eddie Hill said that time he went into the 4's "Matbe it got there so fast it didn't have time to MPH very good" \:D/

A dragster is lighter and will cover the 1st part of the track quicker. The lighter car needs less power to ET the same. The heavier car has to make up what it can't do on the 1st part of the track by going faster.

I think it's the poor coefficient of drag of a dragster relative to a doorcar.
