From the UMTR message board Re: Tim Murphy, owner Fab Shop headers.

Quote:
We are sad to report that long time racer and UMTR Member, Tim Murphy passed away suddenly today, 9/1/11 at his home in New Palestine, Indiana. Tim, as you may know, raced the beautiful blue '69 Shelby Mustang and was Runner-Up at the Stick Shift Summer Nationals, Quick 8 Race in Columbus.

Tim, his wife Judy, family and crew were always a class act at every race they have attended and have always been a huge part of the UMTR family. Tim will be deeply missed.

Please keep Judy and the Murphy family in your thoughts and prayers. Tim will be missed by all of us in the UMTR Family.

For those of you that never met or talked to Tim he was a great guy. I met him a couple of years ago at a UMTR event and we became friends. I think the 1st time I talked to him he was apologizing for a problem he had staging. He didn't want me to think he was messing with me. He wasn't and I never thought he was. A good competitor, sportsman and all around person. He will be missed.

I'm not a Phord guy but I would race THAT car! Nice looking piece and nice guy from what I hear! RIP Tim!

Mike, the header builder at Fab Shop is going to do the headers for my dragster since he's the guy that builds them anyway but he says that Tim's wealth of knowledge will be missed at The Fab Shop in the future! He says that Tim's commitment to quality and customer service will carry on in his absence. \:D/
