hello fellas, i'm tired of the fighting the accel system and am going back to carb, so these questions pertain to the changeover and a couple other question possibilities:

presently is sbf 351/406ci 9.8 comp accel efi with sup vic intake, solid roller cam 244/244 .600 110lsa, afr205 heads unmodified

will have to change the intake, prob vic jr or rpm air gap, considering changing to milder hyd roller cam, and of course a carb.

can the efi fuel pump be used with the carb with return line, it is a walbro and don't know if the flow will have any adverse affects.

afr heads have 225# seat pressure is this compatible with hyd roller also?

the cam is billet, and doesn't drive the oil pump, can i use a cast dist. gear that comes with the dist. i order, and what dist. would be the best, using 6al now with blaster coil. thinking i want a dist. with large cap and if i do this might require rpm air gap manifold.

can this cam be used with an rpm air gap?

idle vacuum is 7-8", will this pose a problem with carb? cruise vacuum is 6-7".

what would be a good hyd roller cam using 1.7-1 rockers?

ok, i will take a stab at this.
1: no on the fuel pump pressure is way too high..

2:as per spring pressure you also need open press and go by cam card specs, if the card does not have the specs call the manufacturer for them.

3: as for the dist gear again contact the manufacturer.

4: msd, their are many to choose from.

5:yes you can use a carb with cam. just have too tune it. no problem with the idle vaccum just use the correct powervalve.

6: the cam co, could better answer cam application.

guess i should close this out. i am using a bg 750 rr carb on top of rpm air gap with davis hei distributor, runs good. kept the roller cam and everything below the manifold.

You can use the EFI pump on a carby set up. You need the correct bypass style regulator and it will reduce the pressure to carby levels. A few manufacturers do them, Dont know where you buy them in USA though.

i just changed the regulator spring out for a softer one, usually when you buy one they come with two sets, luckily i had one sitting around, still had to cut one coil off.
