Hi the name is Les . I started drag racing my 68 Coronet back in 1984 .Then in 2002 built not bought a 245" Mopar powered dragster. I've been fortunate enough to win 2 Walleys one in 04 and another in 05 but in 06 I parked the digger until last year to spend more time with my family hunting, fishing, golfing and camping etc .My son turned 16 Last fall so put together a low deck Mopar carberated on alcohol . So first race out last fall got lucky and made it to the final round but had a woopsie on the tree.Ok I'm done rambling now and looking forward to being part of this forum .

Thanks Beretta
The Coronet started with a real basic 318 and had a sponsored 557 when before the chassis was sold. The dragster came out with a 383 Mopar blown on gas . It's now has a 383 carberated with a single Holley on alcohol for my son to learn how to race with .In the shelf sits a 14-71 blower that will go on top of the 520 inch Mopar I'm building for The trip to 200 mph

HI there. IN Australia Chrysler developed a 245 cubic inch hemi 6. there was a 215 and a 265 version as well. they called it a hemi but its was really more like a inclined inline valve setup. They were really good 6 cylinder engines. Is that the motor your referring too, did they have them in USA?

I don't ever remember seeing or hearing about this engine here in the "States" but Les is in Canada and like "Oz", they very well could have had that engine up there. All the early Chrysler inline 6 cylinder engines I can remember seeing here back in the early years were flat head types.

Hey Stinker
The 245" refers to the wheel base of the car Not the engine sorry for the confusion
