Welcome to the forum. Wow Ft Lauderdale brings back some good memories.  Was in the Navy and stationed in Key West in the early 60s. Used to work as a bouncer, week ends, in the Pit lounge in Lauderdale in the early 60s. Just thinking, they had a drink special 25 cents for any simple mixed drink, rum vodka or gin, from noon to 4 on week ends.

A day older than dirt. I remember 7 short glasses of beer for a dollar before noon. That booze all tasted the same it was so bad. rum vodka gin , didn't make a difference. Time has gone by. in 1960 a good middle class wage was 100 dollars a week.

The beach sucks anymore ,nothing more than a tourist trap. Gave us a little slice for a dog beach but you have to pay and you can't take the dogs off the leash or you will get a ticket. Had lunch there a couple of months ago , lunch was 12 bucks and the expired meter was 35 bucks.
We are on water conservation here so I get a notice that since you are not using as much water as normal we are going to charge you more money.  A beer on the beach is about 6 bucks. Just ain't what it used to be.
