Tell us more. Is it a copy or did you design it yourself? Wheelbase? What kind of tube? Did you build any droop or twist in it? Slip join or Solid or suspended?

This is an S&W Advanced ET dragster kit. The tubes come pre-bent and are numbered. I just have to do some minor trimming on most of the tubes to get them to fit. You get a set of blueprints and most things are pretty straight-forward. 230" wheelbase, 4130 CM tubing, 1" of "arch" in the chassis, 4 link.

I have a vertical milling machine, lathe, TIG & MIG welder in my shop. With the right equipment it is a good project for your average "gearhead". I have been fabricating parts for various race cars for the last 30 years.

The jig I made from looking at various jigs that are on the internet of the major chassis shops. I have also built many jigs over the years. This jig is very simple and easy to build. :-$

That's cool. Grab a spot on the under construction and keep us up to date. I'm sure the guys could benefit from your project, whether they build a dragster or a door car. I see the datum line string. I had a great idea when I seen a lazer for putting up ceiling tile or cabinets at the hardware store.

Welcome Blue Steel. I could have sworn I saw in your post that you started construction October 23.
If you did, your one hell of a weldor!!
I love to weld as well. So far the worst thing of growing old is my loss of good eye sight. Pretty tough to do out of position welding, needing several sets of magnifiers.
As far as BB vs SB, Im a BBC kind of guy.
Keep us posted on your progress.

I have to remove my glasses to weld. Never had much luck with the magnifiers. I am near sighted.

I actually started on the frame rails on Thursay of last week. It is just tacked together. Once I get all the tubing fitted I will TIG it all up, except the cage. I will have  to mount the seat, them notch the cage and TIG it up.
