Stopped and got some today and tested it when I got home..Somewhat disappointed have any ideas?? Mark S your north of me did you test yours??? If so what did it test to?? Barry- the 5 gallons I tested were picked up and stored since last September. I need to get some new fuel this weeks and I'll test the new batch. I'd hope we're now at 85% blend since its officially summer in less than week.
Do you have an was of getting some e98 to allow the e70 to be brought up to e85?

Mark this is a station that added e85 in the fall. So maybe there still working on the winter blend and have not sold out ot that and not gotten a new load yet...This is why I started all this with the carb or I would have just decided to go with Alcohol. I checked this morning and there is a station in Spring Valley NY that has E85 and it's a Sunoco station. So I guess I will have to get some from there as I am up that way sometimes..But that station is about 60 miles from me .. I need to find a metal drum so I can get some of the good stuff when and if I find it  .. Oh and you say plastic drum is no good??? Assuming it's sealed tightly I don't see why a plastic drum wouldn't work. I had mine in a good 5 gallon plastic jug and it seemed to keep fine all winter. I checked it last September and again two weeks ago and got the same reading. Good luck on the search - Hopefully it as you suggest and they are just finshing up using the winter blend and will have summer blend soon. Did you ask them the status?

Might be a good idea to try to find out where that oil company is and go there and see if they will sell to you. That stuff that's left in the tank when they bring a load will mix with the fresh stuff they deliver and it might take a month or more before the stuff is good. Of course that will depend on how much of the stuff they sell.

Beretta The local station when i called 4 weeks said they were on summer blend , when i tested, it was only at 80%, had no stored drum fuel left from last year so i bought 15 gal. My sbc is at 14.7 to1 and the e85 at 80% still works fine, I kept the jets the same at 102 while on the stop, but 70% would need much lower comp than what you run.

I guess the best thing to do is wait until late in the summer and when you find the real E85 stuff, then take a 55gal drum and fill it. Since you're not likely to use that much through the fall season, then you'll have some left to run you until the mix gets good again the next year and you can start that cycle over. Plastic drums should be fine. I have seen some plastics that don't handle ethanol well, certain screwdriver handles I have don't like it, but if the drums are OK for methanol they will be fine for E85.

I agree, plastic is fine. One of the buys I race with who runs E85 stores it in plastic drums. Normally fills 2 of them for the first part of the year and then refills around mid august to finish the season and have some to start the next year while waiting for the good stuff here.
