Well I have the metering blocks done and looking at some jets and looks like it's way less$$$ to buy a box of alcohol jets from 130 to 150...You get 4 each for $30..
Oh and I need a alcohol filter for my bg 5000 filter so I need to find one somewhere,Help!!!
So my start up just is not going to happen tomorrow. Oh and almost forgot I need a float for thge
primary side also...

Barry, anything SS mesh will work! I've bought two Kinser FI filters that were -8 off of fleabay for "cheap" and one is on the dragster now. The other went with that first digger I had that I sold.

You just need an SS filter, not anything paper.

AS you can see it's tight quarters there and didn't want to redesign the fuel system for a different
filter.. I have some people looking for me and need to call the local speed shop here that is local
as he had alot of BG stuff...Hope to get lucky and find one somewhere...

I also went by the gas station that has E85 and it's $3.48 a gallon so that is going to be better
that $55 for 5 gallon can.. =;

Beretta This is my fourth year on e85 using the BG 500 filter and insert with no problems at all. I had said in another post that some one sells a insert for the BG filter, found that Jegs has a replacement insert # 555-15005. It is listed as a gas filter insert , but looks the same as the BG insert as far as the element. The original BG insert was not SS but worked fine, and BG only had one filter insert listed for meth or gas. If the Jegs insert is the same as BG's, then it shouldl work fine with e85, and its only 12.99. I'am going to get one and see how it compares to the one i have now, i don't have a lot of room for change either.

This probably won't help you Barry, but you could put one of those paper filters in a container full of E85 and let it sit for a period of time to see what happens. I've done that with epoxy in methanol and found out that epoxy doesn't like it. At least the brands that I tried didn't.

Beretta Not sure what its made from, BG had only one filter cannister avalable for the 500 filter, not one for gas and one for meth. With that being said i have a couple of old inserts laying around, will cut one open and see what its made from, may not be paper.

On another note I was reading that when switching to E85 that it loosens
a lot of garbage in your fuel cell and will get into your carb..
You running foam in fuel cell??

Snip off some foam and drop it in some E85. I know marks dragster doesn't have foam in it but I don't know about his brothers car.

I've got one of those BG filters. I put in a new element few years back. I'm a pack rat so when I can lift I'll hunt through my stash and see if I have the old one.

No foam in cell, cut filter apart, some sort of paper, no bonding glue, pressed between inner and outer metal casings. When i had a electric pump in the car i did a fuel volum test, BG 400, this filter with e85, # 10 line, one gallon in 26 seconds. I didn't see any problems when i switched to e85 with the fuel system as far as loosening up anything in cell or lines

Would love to put a new one in there but if I remove the one that in there now (I replaced it last spring) and clean it up you think it will be good?? Don't really see why not...

When you get jets for a 1250 you want to get from .150 to .170. Smaller won't likely cut it.

Good to see you again here Mark!!! Hope from now on it gets better every day.

Anyway Bruce had told me to start with a 136 jet...So where should I be then??
