Sam Yunick:

William "Sam" Yunick, 42, son of of racing legend, Henry Smokey Yunick, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 27, 2008. Sam was a graduate of Georgia State and began his journey as an entrepreneur in Atlanta, Georgia in August 1991. Sam and his wife, Sharon, started with one Subway franchise and built it into a successful business with five operations in the Atlanta area. Sam and Sharon returned to Jacksonville in 1996 where Sam started Sync, Inc. which currently employs over 95 people in its various operations. Sam is survived by his wife, Sharon Yunick; two sons, Michael and Patrick; and a daughter, Nicole. More info at the Daytona Beach News Journal.(12-31-2008)

RIP WILLIAM SAM YUNICK

I have read alot of smokey's articles and have several sbc how to books by smokey.
i am the same age as sam, makes you think. :-k

Any news Ken as to what caused his death so quickly?  I remember the old man who cheated with everything he could get away with, he was the speed man in his day, sure wish I could have ben that little mouse sitting in the corner of his O'l Garage  just absorbing info for later on in another life, like now =;
