Here is a link to a website that is trying to push more gun control down our throats!  If you are in one of these states, then you need to write your representatives and demand that they vote NO on this bill!!

Remember that every freedom that you allow to be taken away is just one more step toward a totalitarian form of government!

We must be vigilant and guard against these attacks on our civil liberties!

Ammunition Accountability Act

              Tuesday, December 23, 2008, 6:55 pm

Here we go friends...Round One! Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take
your guns? Well, itseems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no
problem withtaking your ammo! The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including
TN,  Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture,
a data base of allammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what
calibers. Nobodycan sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is
coded. Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1,
2011.(Including handloaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every
roundso every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they
candeprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun! Please give this the
widest distribution possible and contact your Reps! It's the ammo, not the
guns.

I've said for a long time that they wouldn't go for your guns, they'd go for your ammo... guns
have a Constitutional protection. Ammo doesnot. A list of states where this
legislation is pending is in the finalparagraph. Not in CO yet, they'll go where
the pansies are first. Heads up to all of you who swore to defend the Constitution
of the UnitedStates against all enemies, foreign AND domestic. Let your state
Legislaturesknow that we do not want this bill passed, and petition them to vote no
on thisbill. We should keep after them until the bill is closed by bombarding them
withe-mails, phone calls, and letters. Get to all your politicians to get to work
and NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!!! The 2008Legislative session has begun, and the
Ammunition Accountability Act is beingintroduced across the country. Below is a
list of states where legislation hasalready been introduced: Alabama , Arizona ,
California , Connecticut , Hawaii , Illinois , Indiana , Kentucky ,Maryland ,
Mississippi , Missouri , New Jersey , New York , Pennsylvania , RhodeIsland , South
Carolina , Tennessee , and Washington .More
information can be found at:http://www.usavsus.info/US-AmmoRegistr.htm

i read nj jersey's. i see big gaps. no mention of reloaded ammo. it is rediculious because all that ammo is going to end up on the street in the wrong hands and we will be paying the price.

and what if someone reloads your old casings and commits a crime??

From what I gather the bullet itself has the ID on it, not the brass?  I may be wrong on that part though but it wouldn't do any good to mark the brass simply because they are reuseable.  Bullets on the other hand are usually not reuseable once they are shot.

I'll bet they mark the bullet on the base.  That part is more likely to survive as it's the last thing to hit anything, if it hits anything at all.  I've seen more than one round that had most of the front part destroyed but the end that is next to the powder is usually intact.

There is coming a day when you'll either have to hid your s**t or surender it to "big brother"! 8-[
