Did the sell out of Anheuser Busch, forced by the threat of a hostile take over  by a foreign company affect whether you continue to purchase their products or not?

Yeah, they were immigrants but they came here, earned their citizenship and became an American icon.  American owned, produced in America and the profits stayed in America.  Now those profits will go to Europe, not the US.  We’re already giving OPEC over $700 BILLION a year for oil.  It would be nice to keep the beer money here at home. :-

If it makes you feel any better, we did slide McDonalds in under their noses and now it's poking them in the rear!  Hell, Europe brings in the most revenue for the good ol' McD's.

Will still be drinking my Bud Light.  And Dos Eques.  And Killian's Red.  What can I say?  I guess I just get around =;  =;  =;

the worlds changing guys, soon the US will head the same way as the UK, the only reason it hasn't so far is because of size and scale, but social and economic changes are afoot for all western powers.

Declining industries, reduction in exports, and heavily reliance on imported goods and services.  Skilled people decline, the rich get richer from the downfall in skills and production once cheaper foreign production is employed. The immigrants take over the bottom end of the supply chain and workforce and thrive in your decline.

The poor and elderly remain dependant on government welfare and average hard working guys like us and our families merely become taxpayers and more importantly for the fat cats, consumers.

To put it into perspective. The UK's farming industries we're ruined by our own government legislation. We no longer have a British car industry, it was sold off years ago. Manufacturing for export is virtually non existant. Our fishing waters are full of "foreign" trawlers and our main source of commerce is basically retail.  Our economy is reliant on the world financial markets which as we're learning essentially revolve around oil. We'll eventuly be priced into recession by the Middle Eastern oil producers and will have basically given our country and economy away for nothing.

So when it comes to beer....where it comes from is the last thing on my mind, if it's cold, has a bunch of firiends in the fridge and lets me forget the last 9 hrs at work....I'll drink it !
