I've had this car for about 14 years. 420" SBC 1/8th mile bracket car. It goes 5.77 in the 1/8th. Haven't raced alot this year because I spun some rod bearings in the spring, and it's just been too hot to put the engine back together. Looking to upgrade a little when I reassemble it, and go a little faster.

So, did you figure out why you had the bearing failures?
Reason I ask is that I had a pump gas 434 in a door car that ran 5.80s and it lost a bearing because all the oil ran to the front of the pan in the shut down area. Accusump cured that problem though and now I run one on the dragster too.
Ya have to remember that when you are going faster, it also requires that you slow down faster which increases the negative Gs, even on the oil in the pan and most especially if it's a box sump.

Yes, that was what we concluded. It was at a track with a very short shutdown, I was on the brakes a little harder than usual. I saw the oil pressure go to nothing a couple of times. an accumulater is in the plans.
