I'm still very pleased with this truck. I did get a warning/error message on the info center indicating a problem with the exhaust fluid system. When this happens it gives a warning that the truck will be speed limited to 50 MPH in 50 miles then starts a mileage countdown to the speed limit. It got down to 43 miles then went away. I have an appointment to take it to the dealer next week but that happened 600 miles ago and hasn't been back. I have read on TDS that there are some issues with this so I'm sure Ford will figure out what's going on and get it fixed.

Last trip to Edgewater which is mostly interstate and there are a few hills it got just under 12 MPG at 65-70 MPH pulling the trailer. It has 2,300 miles on it now so it should be getting broken in now.

Chuck I was talking to a guy today that has a new Ford and he said he already had it back to Ford twice cause of a exhaust particle filter issue..They had to replace part of the exhaust cause of it as it was almost plugged...OUCH!!!

I hadn't heard of that problem Barry. The diesel particulate filter requires a regeneration cycle periodically to clean it. The way I understand it the regen only occurs at highway speeds and I can see where there may be problems if you never get it out of the city. These newer Fords are supposed to give you an indication to continue to drive if the regen cycle needs to complete. I think that only happens if the regen hasn't been allowed to complete so many consecutive times. I do a lot of stop and go driving with mine because I'm less than 2 miles from the shop but I haven't seen any problems with the DPF. Of course I do quite a bit of towing and I have ~3,500 miles on it now. I guess we'll see if that's going to be a problem when race season is over.

That's an emission control device so I would think the warranty should have covered it?

Wonder if running the wrong fuel causes this? But then again, about the only thing I've seen is the ULS stuff lately.

I do see that there putting biofuel sp? in it also..And yes it was warranted.
Maybe it was some bad fuel O:)

When I was in Joliet their fuel was mixed with like 20% bio fuel. O:) Of course it cost 30 cents more too [-( [-(

My truck is good for 20% bio and I think any more than that can cause problems with the DPF among other things. I don't plan on using any.

These trucks are really clean. You can stand by the tailpipe with it running and can't smell even a hint of diesel odor, in fact you can't smell any exhaust odor at all. The downside is the DPF is only good for somewhere around 100,000 miles.
