Data loggers? Well, you didn't ask me but I'm going to tell you anyway. He's got a DL-32 Innovate Motorsports logger, which is what I have. I deal with Greg Kelly @ Motorsports Innovations because he has about the best customer support/service I've ever had! Gearhead1011 here on MSV sells Computec loggers and several here have bought those units from him and I don't know of anyone that has one that has any major problems with them. Scott Smith has owned the Innovate logger but I think he now has a Racepac and will probably tell you the same thing I'm going to tell you about the Innovate stuff. Innovate loggers are better than NO logger but they do have issues. They're difficult to setup and also difficult to maintain as there's always something going wrong with them. It's not that the hardware fails, it's just they are finicky about numerous things and an all around PITA, IMHO. The major plus for these Innovate loggers though is they're cheap, and I resemble that remark! On that Camaro I had I was logging 18 channels with an Innovate system that cost me around $1600 and you probably won't be able to do that with any other system out there. So my suggestion is if money is no object then I'd go with a Computec logger because I know gearhead1011 and he's been a member here for 6 years. Oh, and I believe that Computec now has a modular system similar to the Innovate stuff if you're into that kind of system. My second choice would be Greg Kelly at Motorsports Innovations as he's been great to deal with and he also sells Racepack and other loggers too. And my final note, there IS such a thing as "too much information!"

did not mean to leave you out i do currently log data with my laptop using innovative products. log afr, engine rpm and drive rpm. you are right about these being kwirky. seems like every time i connect my laptop to the ssi-4 device, i have to configer something to make it work correctly. and when it does decide to log, the data never looks correct. hence my reasoning for a different logger. i also want to added some pressure and temp sensors i and whole heartdly agree with you on to much information

Computech offers good product support and I do what I can to help. They are good about helping with calibrations for sensors that aren't theirs. To me the Computech software is the most user-friendly that I have seen and the graphs are real easy to understand. The DataMaxx is their latest logger and it uses analog modules for expanding. The price is reasonable too. If you're interested just let me know what you want to monitor and what sensors you already have and I can get you a price together.
