Hello
My car came back today. My bodyman added the flames, using some of my drawings and his ideas. I like some of his, but I liked some of mine
It is in primer though, so we can decide what to do differently when it comes time for paint. Then I will make full scale drawings for the sides of the car( I can draw OK)
The flames will also have more colour to it....orange, yellow etc and be faded in better
It does have a mean Hot Rod look to it though. It has a coat of clear coat on top which was mixed up to give it a semi gloss look.....not flat and not shiny. I really like how he did that
Being in primer, I can sort out the car, see how the body holds up with the weather and me beating the living crap out of it.....this is going to be fun
                        take care
                                 Tom
I am going to try and post some pics

Here you go Tom.  You have to do them individually.

Thanks MM. I appreciate the help
I will put the door glass/vent windows in next week. I have fiberglass bumpers to mount and they will be silver. The hood has a stainless mesh to go  in the grill areas(63 was phony grills) front rad grill and hood scoop openings. There is also a pc of aluminum to go in the front of the stinger
I have side exhaust covers to go over the exhaust system which I have not yet purchased
I am off to a nostalgia drag race tomorrow with my engine builder, so I will know then when it is coming over. It is going to be a busy month, but at least all of the welding and bodywork is behind me now
                    take care
                               Tom
my flame design is different for the sides of the car, but it does go back just as far. If there are any flame lovers out there, feel free to say how far back you think they should go in paint
please be nice. though.....I cry easily   LOL

OK since you asked: I think they should stop at the A pillars, or maybe just a few inches beyond.

I agree with MM, I would stop the flames sooner, it's your car and you need to decide what YOU like the best.
On another note it looks awesome and will even get better as the shiny stuff goes on, nice job.
Greg

Wow that thing is really coming together Tom.  That's wild that you put that much effort into a "temporary" paint job.

I always believed, The paint was a personal decision, depending on what you wanted to say. It can be from, This is the Big Top (greatest show on earth, to I have to park in front of the funeral home every day. I prefer goast flames subtle flip flop accents or even some krinkle paint accents. I like them subtle enough that when someone looks at them they say wow I didn't notice that. That's neat. On the other hand It's fun to crank up the Calliope. See little Egypt, she walks she talks she crawls on her belly like a reptile.
